With the Austrian Industrial Strategy 2035, the Austrian federal government has set a clear direction: Austria aims to return to the top 10 industrial countries of the OECD and secure its technological sovereignty. At the heart of the strategy are nine key technologies (such as AI, life sciences & biotech, advanced manufacturing technologies, new materials, energy and environmental technologies, or mobility), which have been identified as crucial for the future competitiveness, value creation and resilience of Austria as an industrial location.

With the launch of the “Industrial Key Technologies – Leading Companies 2030” impulse programme on 16 June 2026, for the first time a funding programme is specifically tailored to these nine key technologies. A total of 18 million Euro is available, with the possibility to combine R&D and investment funding.

Funding is granted on a “first come, first served” basis, so early application is strongly recommended.
