Before acquiring a company, the strategic goal behind the acquisition should be clearly defined. This forms the basis for establishing criteria to identify suitable target companies. PwC supports this process by leveraging its network of direct contacts to approach potential targets and initiate preliminary discussions.

The next step typically involves submitting a written, non-binding offer for the acquisition of the company. Upon acceptance of this offer, the buyer conducts a thorough due diligence process to gather all relevant information required to prepare a binding offer. If the buyer and seller reach an agreement, the transaction proceeds to the contract drafting phase.

Following the signing and closing of the transaction, the integration phase begins with the objective of implementing the strategic goals originally defined for the acquisition.
