Feedback and coaching

We can promise you one thing: With PwC you will grow both professionally and personally on a daily basis.

At the beginning of each year you will have a conversation with your coach about where you want to take your career. In an open discussion you will map out how to achieve your specific objectives.

For example, you will put yourself in your clients’ shoes so as to understand their needs. In order to meet these needs you need to know about the services offered by other teams, not just your own. This involves getting to know colleagues from other teams, and building your own network. Each conscious decision you take will benefit your personal growth and enhance the competencies of your team.

Your development plan is made up of major and minor steps and will accompany you throughout the year. We also encourage you to ask for feedback on a regular basis, both from clients and from colleagues.

At the end of the year, you and your coach will look back on what you have achieved. Where are you now? What went particularly well and what might be improved? This reflection on your year with PwC will prepare you for new challenges in the future.

We invest time in relationships – both in and out of the office.

Hausgemeinschaften Erdbergstraße

Once a month, the senior residents of Hausgemeinschaften Erdbergstraße, a care home situated just a few hundred yards down the road from our Vienna offices, look forward to a visit from our employees. We take the time to chat over coffee and cake, we listen to them and sometimes we even manage to make small wishes come true. In case you’re wondering why we do this – we believe it’s part of our responsibility as a firm and individuals to contribute to society in a way that goes beyond our everyday work.

Helping refugees

Education should be available to everyone.

Since its establishment in 2012, an organisation called “Education Initiative Austria – More for Everyone!” has organised and put together courses in essentials and covers the minimum requirement for a school-leaving certificate for those young refugees and migrants who are past mandatory school age and do not have access to a place at a state school. Among other things, this organisation established the Vienna refugee programme called PROSA (School for Everyone).

We support this project because we are convinced that everyone should have access to education. As well as providing professional advice to the organisation, we have also been able to help by providing 40 urgently required laptops, other IT equipment, bags filled with school supplies as well as financial support.

The Erdberg refugee initial registration centre, mainly for unaccompanied minors, is located close to the PwC offices in Vienna. We show our support here by donating much needed items. Some of our employees meet the refugees at this centre, whose life stories are in some ways so different to ours, and take them on outings in Vienna. This puts the challenges we face on a daily basis into perspective.
